Bigmack's World

Well, here I am again, updating.  I found one occasion to update: I just got a piece of mail from a group of people called "The College Board".  As anyone who's taken the SAT knows, this fate-filled letter could mean your destiny.  Except for an eighth-grader like me.  However, I got a 1450, and have nothing to be worried about at the moment.  I would make a special animated pic commerating this (guffaw), but I don't feel like taking away vital time from working on Tern Overgul.  Well, there you have it.  I'm working on a totally new version of my site that will be completely independent from this, so... this may possibly be the second to last time I'll ever update this site.  The last time would be a re-direction link.  Or...I might move this site to Geocities or something and use this URL for my new site.  Whatever may happen, this site is the one place you may need to go (or this link).
Nothing.
Since all of the questions have been answered...this will be the last post this contest is posted.
1.  What is the highest level Pokemon found in the wild, excluding Mewtwo?
Ben Portman: A level 182 Pokémon.  (Without exploiting bugs, the level 65 Ditto found on the bottom floor of the Unknown Dungeon).
2.  How many bytes are in 7.5 KB?
Anatoly: 7.5 KB * 1024 = 7680 bytes.
3.  True or False: Over history the Earth's magnetic poles have been switching polarity.
Anatoly: True.  Sorta.  The location of the poles has actually wandered somewhat, not just instantaniously switched polarity.  So this could be answered as either true or false.  Also, though I assume you didn't mean this, but magnetic poles don't switch polarity (per se), since the magnetic north pole is always the magnetic north pole, no matter where it may be.
4.  How many bits are there in 258.125 GB?
Anatoly: 258.125 * 1024^3 * 8 = 2,217,276,866,560 bits.
5.  What is the best attack in Pokemon that is not a self-destruct move?
Alex: Hyper Beam (150 attack power, but must recharge after it is used).

Last week was the Florida trip, which was a lot of fun.  I think I'm going to do a day-by-day run-down of our school trip, which was a heck of a lot of fun.  And before that for about a week and a half this computer wasn't working because of an error in the \iosubsys directory.  Actually, it turned out to be a corrupted sound device driver, so at the moment we are soundless but at least the computer still works.  Today's update will be very short as I don't have much time to do anything at the moment, but expect a meaty update in a couple of days.  Oh, EverQuest has entered Phase IV beta, the first public beta.  And I downloaded an awesome game called Shock Force (Wulfram II) which can be found at I-Magic's Site.  I expect I'll be typing up a list of differences soon between the two games.
I uploaded a nifty 1074 * 728 background picture.  Check it out.
Here are the answers to the mini-quiz so far.  This is your last chance to answer.

Over the past few days (or weeks) I have been thinking.  I am currently using 4.4 MB of my 5 MB allotted space on this server.  Much of this space is taken up by "junk pictures".  I am thinking about totally moving this site over to a Xoom server and starting anew.  Don't worry, though, as this will happen anytime between two months and half a year from now.  I plan to name the new page "Bigmack's World: Neo" or something like that.
Check out my recently updated Sci-Fi page.

I apologize for any ill intentions in my last post.  Technically, they were scooped out, not chopped off, but let's not talk about that.  Today I've added a new mini-quiz, which has some very hard questions.  You may notice that it now has two Pokemon questions, as I am trying to cater to the crowd that visits my site.  Over this past weekend I dealt with a semi-mailicious Trojan sent to me by a "friend", obviously I deleted the crud out of it or I wouldn't be posting this now.  Although it was inconvient; I had to switch to command-line safe-mode to delete the file it installed intwo my WINDOWS directory.  And we had some very nice snow, which made us miss school on Friday, and to this day a little bit of snow/ice can be seen.  That day off was pretty nice.  Today we had a French test, which I believe I did extremely well on.  In English we are in the midst of a responsibility unit, and we have to walk around carrying eggs in padded containers all day for two weeks.  The best container is a mix between protection and size.  Some of my friends are carrying around huge, cumbersome containers, although the eggs survive falls from second-story windows.  And in school recently we had a fire drill at the most inconvient time...while I was in the bathroom.  That's all for today, feel free to send in responses to my mini-quiz.
I added a new mini-quiz and created a very interesting page, title Awesome Backgrounds.

I'm back, after an absense of two weeks.  The main reason is that my version of Netscape became invalid due to the trial period being over, so there was a whole while in the gray period during the time I was transitioning between everything Netscape and everything Internet Explorer (luckily, though, I am allowed to use Netscape's editor still).  Let me tell a story...a day after I wrote my last post I went to my grandparents' house in S. Carolina for about 4-5 days.  Then, when we came back, we went to Virgina for a New Years Eve party.  We also had some very nice snow, plus a great party.  Happy New Year's, people!, though it might be a little bit late.  Normally I would make a spastic animated pic, but I don't feel like doing that at the moment.  I'd like to make a note of something, though.  It is the year 1999 now.  Be sure to change the way you write dates and stuff like that.  Be rest assured that I will update on January 1st, 2000 and prove once and for all that the Y2K bug will have no major implications.  And one final, final thing.  Not to put it crudely or anything, but my cat had his balls chopped off today (you know, neutering).
I cleared the logs.  That's all.  Expect more coming next post.
Here are the correct answers to the latest mini-quiz.  The next post, I will have another mini-quiz set up for you.
1.  Which mammal accounts for 25% of Earth's total mammal population?
Bigmack: Winged creatures of the night: bats!
2.  Which is the biggest hole in a house during cold winters that makes sense to stay open for a long time?
Fumino: The fireplace.
3.  Which animal accounts for 10% of the Earth's animal population?
Bigmack: Crawling creatures of the ground: ants!
4.  How many roaches were sent up with John Glenn and how many survived?  Were they even sent up there intentionally?
Alex: 6 total 'roaches, 3 eggs, two survived, and they were sent up intentionally.
5.  In what century was B'Elanna bitten by a giant bug in stories of lore?
Alex: 24th century (Star Trek).

Isn't this a cool effect?
